How does the license work?
Buy once, get a key by email, paste it into Settings → License. One key keeps one device active. Deactivate on an old machine and activate on a new one whenever you like. Every future update is included.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
Headroom stops refreshing your meters until you activate a license. Your settings and accounts stay exactly where you left them.
Windows warned me about the installer. Why?
Headroom is a new, independently published app, so SmartScreen may show “unknown publisher” until the installer builds reputation. Updates are cryptographically signed and verified by the app before installing.
Where do my keys and cookies go?
API keys go into Windows Credential Manager or the macOS Keychain, not config files. Provider cookies stay inside per-account isolated profiles on your machine. Nothing usage-related leaves your computer except the provider requests themselves.
Do I pay again for the phone app?
No, if you already bought Headroom. Activate the iPhone or Android app with the same license key and it costs nothing, on up to three devices. On its own the mobile app is a $2.99 one-time unlock. The Apple Watch app ships inside the iPhone app either way.
What can the phone app read that the desktop one can?
Nearly all of it. The phone signs in to each provider itself, over the same endpoints, so Claude, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini, DeepSeek and the API accounts all report the same numbers. Two providers are desktop-only for now: Grok's weekly usage and Antigravity, because neither exposes an endpoint a phone can reach.
Does Headroom work on Mac?
Yes. The universal installer supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or later. The same license can be moved between Windows and Mac whenever you like.
